Kevin and Vincenzo from the City of Brotherly Love decided to start a band at a young age. Their path to success was quite challenging, which can be traced in their creative works. The formation of the group<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

At the end of the 20th century, in the first capital of the United States, two African-American schoolboys who were fond of hip-hop created a musical group. One of them was Kevin Baldwin and the other was Vincenzo Luvineri (or just Vinnie). During the further development of the group, its lineup expanded and decreased several times, but Kevin and Vinnie always remained. Despite all the obstacles that awaited the young men after the start of the project, their friendship was unbroken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 1996, they released the first EP and then a full-length album “Amber Probe” and \u201cThe Psycho-Social”. The latter included twelve singles and six bonus tracks. In addition, it featured all songs from the debut EP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They had a rocky start, despite the powerful diaspora of underground artists from the Philadelphia region, the album did not gain world fame.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second full-length album “Violent by Design” was a completely different matter. The performers themselves have changed radically, as well as their music style. In <\/strong>short, Kevin decided to change his name to Stoupe the Enemy of Mankind. Vinnie, in the most brutal lyrics, became more aggressive and sincere. It should be mentioned that the full nickname of Vinnie is Vinnie Paz, as a reference to the famous American boxer who returned to the professional ring after a severe car accident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Group\u2019s popularity<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Jedi Mind Tricks started a new twenty-first century with the above-mentioned album \u201cViolent By Design\u201d. It combined different rapping styles similar to gangsta rap and hardcore rock. A few years later, the musicians said in an interview that the current album was recorded in Kevin’s bedroom. Despite the lack of necessary sound insulation, the record is gaining popularity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The following album was \u201cVisions of Gandhi ”. Since the name of the album mentioned the figure who stood for non-violent social change, listeners expected something very sensitive and lyrical. However, Gandhi in Kevin and Vinnie’s album is associated with aggressive, violent and even homophobic lyrics. Critics did not appreciate such a move by the Philadelphians. Yet, in the context of commercials, “the box office was closed”, as they say. The project charted in the top twenty Billboard Heatseekers and Independent Albums. Soon, they released another album, which surpassed all previous ones. It was “Legacy of Blood” in 2004. Members of Wu-Tang, Killah Priest and GZA collaborated in the recording process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Army of the Pharaohs is an underground collective driven by Vinnie. The native of the City of Brotherly Love united different hip-hop artists into one team. Kevin also left their first band to develop independently. Music critics noted that by making a decision, the two friends lost their future success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vinnie Paz’s project failed to make at least 100 of the best releases of the year. However, good old JMT without Kevin made it to the top 10 in the Heatseekers chart. Besides, in other magazines, they ranked in higher positions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2011, Jedi Mind Tricks released the album “Violence Begets Violence” without any involvement of one of the founders. Kevin and probably all the members of the group did not expect that it would reach the highest positions from 1997 to 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the return of Stoupe (aka Kevin Baldwin) to his musical group, the project became even more successful. New albums triumphed, often hitting the top of the charts and cash flows were a common thing. It is also worth noting that all this did not happen without the active contribution of such good artists as DJ Kwestion, Jus Allah, DJ Drew Dollars and many other former members of the band.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
